We wanted to push Planet Plus even further. We created scaled, multi-layer architecture and designed most-optimized and highest-performance solution possible. We introduced multithreading process of incoming transactions, microservices for all integration purposes and multi-database environment for optimize data access. Thanks to Docker containers and Kubernetes we are able to scale it to infinity.
We made Planet Plus even more powerful and easy to use. We spent a lot of time rethinking the most important thing of getting cashback - simplicity of use. We've kept the fundamentals unchanged, but focused on details, that matter for users. Client application is now progressive (PWA). Multi-browser plugin is ready to make sure, that user will not miss any cashback. With power of .NET Core as backend platform and ReactJS as frontend users can make enormous amount of transactions. Finally whole application has been designed using Sketch, and we made pixel-perfect mirror to HTML.
We believe that security & privacy is fundamental for our customers. We designed Planet Plus as such from the beginning. SSL is the standard, but it is not enough for us. We used open-source environment based on Linux and sandboxed every part of our solution that we can. Adding external authentication providers and reCaptcha allowed to minimize the risk of accounts takeover. And finally we secured the whole environment from DDoS, which was a huge problem in the previous version. At the end of the day, this result in a safe and secure platform.
A cornerstone of transition from the old platform to the new one, was to import all users data. We developed our own tool with gold path to migrate data in the background of the working platform, on the fly without downtime. From day one all of the users accounts were available, so they were able to immediately make new transactions. After all data consistency was precisely checked. Finally, the platform is integrated with more than 1100 shops and has more than 10 million of imported products, which are being updated everyday.
